Welcome to Rebuild from Depression.

Depression is the top cause of disability among women in advanced industrial countries. It is a complicated disease that may indicate a variety of treatments. However, clinical trials and other medical studies show that we can alleviate our depression by improving our diet.

Many of us do not get adequate quantities of depression-fighting nutrients in our daily diets. As days turn into weeks, months, and years, we are left susceptible to depression. If we fix those nutrient deficiencies, our depression will likely be alleviated. We might even feel like a whole new person.

This site provides information on general strategies to increase the nutrients in your diet. We are developing information every month on improving your status on a particular nutrient (such as our free downloadable e-book on
iron-rich foods) or on integrating foods rich in many nutrients into your diet.

In early 2008 the book
Rebuild from Depression by Amanda G. Rose, Ph.D., will be available here and in bookstores. Read book excerpts and advance praise for the book.

Our mission is to reverse the ever-increasing depression trends. Read more about our
mission, "Rebuild for 2030." In line with this mission, we offer free resources to anyone with access to a computer.

Free Resources

As this site develops, we are adding new resources every month to help you rebuild from depression. Currently, we offer the following:
>>Depression Busters: Five Family Favorites, a free downloadable cookbook that highlights five foods that fight depression.

>>Rebuild Your Iron, a free downloadable e-book on iron rich foods (a depression-fighting mineral).

>>Phytic Acid E-Course. Phytic acid is found in grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds and inhibits your digestion of depression-fighting minerals. Learn shopping and food preparation tips to reduce the phytic acid in your food.
