I'm learning that travel is a very bad idea. I went to the La Leche League International conference in late July and am still recovering from it. I was worn out going into the trip which is never a good sign, I caught a bug on the plane (which is what happens when you are worn out), and to add insult to injury, there was a norovirus incident at the conference. I got that too. Apparently norovirus can be fairly serious but the main implication for me was that I had some very bad work days and reduced calorie consumption. :)
My Chicago friends were worried and also lamented that I was missing out on food in a real restaurant. I expect they don't quite get how I can live in isolation here in the Sequoia National Forest. I don't always get it either until I travel and end up with norovirus. I'm staying home for a while.
But then there are troubles at home because the well water at the local school and in a local water district have high levels of uranium - above the maximum contamination level. We got the news on Friday. We did actually test for uranium three years ago and had low levels. We will be testing again soon. Uranium can wreak havoc on your health. Ironically, part of the reason we moved here was to avoid uranium.
So I am worn out from too much work, travel, norovirus, and possibly uranium. My thyroid is like the proverbial canary in the mine for heavy metal exposure. Exhaustion can be a sign of a sluggish thyroid, though it's also a sign of working too much. I've been wondering lately why I'm so tired and have been finding it hard to determine if it's just from working to hard (which I am doing). I heard the uranium news and thought "Here we go again."
The really good news is that I have more time for work and rest now because Frederick has officially started Kindergarten. The really bad news is that uranium is a whole lot worse than norovirus and perhaps I need to move to Chicago. It has some good restaurants I have been meaning to try.

Uranium has been a large problem in our county and some people are leaving their homes because of it, fortunately it hasn't been a big problem in our small town. It really can cause some significant health problems, so I hope the situation is resolved in your area soon.

No matter what the toxins/impurities are, the need for cellular cleansing has never been greater. As humans we have 'fat cells' to enrobe toxins from the air we breath, water we drink or the food we eat to assist in protecting our vital organs.
